NYMEX Futures

The New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) is a commodity futures exchange, located in New York City, owned and operated by the CME Group. The NYMEX is the centre of energy commodity derivatives trading in the US, and is home to some of the world’s largest and most liquid energy futures contracts, notably the US benchmark WTI Crude Oil Futures, and Henry Hub Natural Gas Futures.

Contract Specifications

Contract Lookup

Please be sure to familiarize yourself with the expiration dates of the different contracts. These can be found by reviewing the contract specifications on the CME Group website.

1. Crude Oil futures: contract size / BP = Price * $1,000 * number of contracts

2. Natural Gas futures: contract size / BP = Price * $10,000 * number of contracts

3. NY Harbor ULSD futures: contract size / BP = Price * $42,000 * number of contracts

4. RBOB Gasoline futures: contract size / BP = Price * $42,000 * number of contracts

Order Types

  • Limit Order; DAY time-in-force
  • Market Order; DAY time-in-force

Basic Market Rules

  • Lot Size - 1 contract
